Goodbye TF212 07 2008 - 15:37 GMT+2 :: MooseIt's about time I write the official announcement that Clan United's Team Fortress 2 squad is no more. We have decided to part ways as big part of the team lost their interest and some of our player like myself wanted to play in more active teams. You won't be getting rid of us entirely in the TF2 scene as snifz and humis will continue together with me in a new team called Interrobang and ReVe has formed a clan called Care Bears. There are probably a few other guys who will continue with TF2 but so far we don't know where they will end up. I'd like to say thanks to everyone who were part of UNi's TF2 squad: Jambo, humis, Celeb, sniffer, yli, ReVe, H4wk, dashing, Sambo, TwisteD, dona, pusan, honky, Masiina. We had some fun times playing and we achieved nice results with this team. Here's a list of them:
Besides these leagues and cups, we were #1 in the Clanbase and Enemy Down 8v8 ladders until we left them due to the fact that the 8v8 died out and everyone moved to 6v6 games. Even if our TF2 team is now gone, it doesn't mean that UNi is dead. The AQ2 squad is still there like always before and UNi's 10th birthday now draws near. I personally don't play AQ2 anymore but who knows, maybe I'll start again in the future. I was hoping that we could arrange some sort of a meeting this year to celebrate our 10th anniversary, but so far those plans have not gone anywhere. I think August would be a good time to have such an event and I'd be willing to help with the arrangements if someone else has the motivation to do it with me. Let me know on IRC if you're interested in attending or helping out, the location would probably be somewhere near the capital area of Helsinki. TF2 news29 05 2008 - 23:11 GMT+2 :: MooseYesterday we won Virtual Troopers in the Enemy Down TF2 Spring B onanzaa 8v8 final. The victory means that we were awarded 800£ (about 1000 euros) from the win while vTroopers got 400£ as runner-ups. The final game itself was rather easy for us since we dominated the opponent with the score of 16-1. GG and nicely played guys. We sure showed them who's the #1 8v8 team. You can read more about this event from Cadred.org. In the 6v6 ED league, we've reached the quarterfinals, but it looks like our next opponent there might be Excello, so it's going to a tough match. Clanbase TF2 OpenCup Premier League group stage is also finished. Only the group winners are going through to the playoffs. As we won our group without losing a single map, we will now meet DCSB in the semifinals. In ETF2L we're holding the #2 spot in the Division 1 with two games still to be played. The ESL Major Series playoffs are also starting next week. Our first opponent there is 4Kings so it's going to be a hard game to win. We will try our best anyway and see if that will be enough. As a side note, I'd like to say that traitorous people (like certain Swede) are to be burned with fire. Words from god 8]19 04 2008 - 01:16 GMT+2 :: TerroMoi poikas ja tyttös. It has now been quite a while since I last let my words of gauge fall over the recently renewed cyberlands of clanunited.org 8D I shall first offer my praise to my senior in age, but junior in newswriting; Mosse-san, that valiantly - like a monk fighting an unjust cause - has held up the newsflow of gauge. Well I'm not here to write about such a newly created game of who.., of lore. No! I am here continue to weave the epic story of the never-ending rugmat called action kwaak 2. But what more is there to weave? You might ask yourselves; WHY do this cunt of gaugeness return to work on something of a seemingly boring pattern, something that after 10 years of lor seems to be running dry on both threads and fabric..? To find the answer, we must look closer into the mysterious irl-life of myself... Anyway, leaving the TF2 and ETF part to juho-san, I shall try make a swift update of changes and progress of our dear AQ2 team. Well k first of all, on the progress side; does the word even have a meaning in this context? I haven't been ircing for weeks myself, but the few times I've once more peeked inside the land of gauge happo, the only progress I've seen is "Day changed to 08 Apr 2008","Day changed to 09 Apr 2008","Day changed to 10 Apr 2008", etc. Also on TF side, honky joined. Well k, no manga and anime thread this time, as my guest just arrived. K, that's all from terro-sama 8DDD OVER AND OUT ETF eXtreme - Fragmovie by Moose & More19 04 2008 - 00:37 GMT+2 :: Moosehttp://www.own-age.com/vids/13032 Finally, after year and a half of work and 2 broken HDs later, Fin Pumping Productions present to you: ETF eXtreme. Me and More had grand plans for this movie, unfortunately we didn't have the time and motivation to create all the neat effects we wanted to. Especially those hard drive failures were really demotivating, we had to start everything almost from scratch two times. Even so, I think the movie ended up great and I'm glad that we can finally present it to broader audience. The movie features many of the UNi ETF guys as well as some of the most skilled players from the other ETF teams. - Info: Lenght - 18min39s Resolution - 848 x 480 Codecs - x264 video and MP3 audio Best viewed with Media Player Classic + Combined Community Codec Pack (both included in Combined-Community-Codec-Pack-2008-01-24.exe). Newest version of VLC player should also work. If you have an old computer and the video seems slow, try installing CoreAVC. It requires much less CPU power for H.264 playback than ffdshow.
Infected Mushroom - Heavyweight - Applications used: ETFCam by yli Thanks to yli, humis, ndbag, pyros and all the active players on #kgather! More news from the happy happy TF2 land12 03 2008 - 03:01 GMT+2 :: MooseThe ESL Major Series qualifiers are now over for us. In the Finnish qualifier group final, we won Team Jobola 2-1 after fierce fight that lasted over two hours. Probably the tightest TF2 game I've seen. Demos from the game can be found from http://demos.nocrits.com/. Well worth the watch if you ask me. Our victory means that we are now in the EMS group stage. Another happy ESL news is that today we won Total Llamas in the ESL 8on8 cup finals. The final map was cp_badlands and the score was 11-1 for us. Demos for that match are up the ESL website, just click on the match link. We also have a new member in the TF2 squad. ReVe from vTroopers joined our ranks in TF2 as well. He has previously played ETF in UNi so he's not completely new in our team. In other news, terro is missing 30 pages from chapter 38 of Vinland Saga (great manga by the way). Who can help him find them? Pm terro in quakenet if you have seen these pages. Tournament stuff and member changes04 03 2008 - 02:24 GMT+2 :: MooseThe European TF2 League is now finished and after winning our final game against French FoF 2-0 (ctf_turbine 6-4, cp_well 3-2), we finished third in the highest division. 4K won the league and Kompaniet was second. In theSGL Champions League we were not as fortunate. We lost the game against GamerArea in the knockout stage and thus were dropped out from the league. Quadv.com covered this game and the archived stream should be soon available in their video on demand section. In other news, EnemyDown is holding a 6v6 and 8v8 leagues with money prices. We're naturally taking part in both of them. ESL is also planning to launch a new 8v8 ladder and they have a starting cup for it going on at the moment. Haven't managed to play any games there yet though. The second ETF2L cup also just started. There are whopping 64 clans participating in it so it will be a long road before this one is finished. Our first game there is against Cavaliers from Czech Republic on next Monday. In the KinderGarten ETF cup, we managed to won our first two games but lost to AGO in the winner's bracket final just yesterday. Now we're in the loser's bracket where we will meet Hopstarz or Clan VM next. If we win this game, we are going to face AGO again in the superfinal. Our TF2 team lost Masiina as he went back to the newly formed Blood Pressure. Good luck to BP, it was nice to have you with us Masiina! Our AQ2 team also lost herty and kutti, who left for illusion, chatode who went to jägarna and Materia and s3thi who are now both playing for CIA. To replace them, we have now ZooL and mixture playing in UNi again. Welcome back!. Also it seems that iler has somehow managed to start playing again which is pure madness. Guess I'll have to play a game or two myself just to see if he can play at all anymore, somehow I doubt it :) TheSGL TF2 update25 02 2008 - 17:32 GMT+2 :: MooseTheSGL TF2 Invite League is finished. We managed to win Team Coolermaster in the last round and with this we secured the third place in this first TF2 league that we've finished. The winning team was Swedish Kompaniet followed by 4Kings from UK. In TheSGL's later instalment, Champions League, we've now reached the playoffs stage where our opponent tonight will be Team GamerArea, a German team previously known as RhineFire. This game will have a live video coverage available on QuadV with English commentary by Deeman and Kee_RinG. Remember to tune in tonight at 8 PM (GMT)! Oh, and as a sidenote. Since the beginning of 2008, we now only list official TF2 games on our website. The ones that are played in some ladder or league or something. I just can't be arsed to remember all the pcw's we've played recently. New pages out!16 02 2008 - 13:56 GMT+2 :: ilerOld pages were a _bit_ outdated so it was time to release the next version of our pages :) Pages are still unfinished so there will be dropping more features in the near future. But these pages are working much better than the old ones so I decided to release these ones now. TF2 and ETF news01 02 2008 - 16:18 GMT+2 :: MooseIt's time to take a look at some of the things that have been happening in "other cunt games" as terro would say. In TF2 we are currently active in the 8on8 Clanbase and EnemyDown ladders. We are still holding the #1 spot in CB, but unfortunately that ladder is pretty much dead now since everyone's playing 8on8 games in the ED ladder. I personally would prefer the Clanbase rules better since EnemyDown awards activity more than skill (#1 doesn't have to accept our challenge and even if we win the current #1, we don't go straight to #1 like in CB, we just get the normal amount of points). Currently we are in the #2 position in ED, HerbsArmy is still ahead of us since they have been able to play more games. We are going to finally play against HA and vTroopers (#3 atm) next week so if everything goes as planned, we might soon be on top of this ladder as well. Besides these 8on8 ladders, we are also active in and in theSGL Champions League and in the European TF2 League, which are both played 6on6. Unfortunately 6on6 games are not really our forte. Our lineup has been built for 8on8 games and we've had some hard times adapting to the different kind of playstyle that 6on6 games require. It's too bad that 6on6 is clearly the more popular style these days so we play these games as well when needed. It is still our opinion that the fortress games are meant to be played 8on8 but I can understand that it's easier for most teams to field 6 players instead of 8. The positive side in 6on6 games is that they're usually played with critical hits disabled and with classlimit 2 and mediclimit 1. I would like to see this ruleset used more often in 8on8 games as well since it greatly reduces the random factor which annoys almost everyone. It's also a shame that most of our best competition in the 8on8 scene has already quitted TF2 now that Blood Pressure and Nahkela Bosse don't play anymore. At least we got Masiina from BP to our lineup after his team folded, welcome by the way. Like I mentioned before, our perfomances in 6on6 games have not been stellar, but I guess we've been doing ok. In theSGL, we just played our first game against a tough Swedish clan, syre. This match was broadcasted live by Progressive eSports along with three German commentators. I heard afterwards that there were around 300 people watching the game. Only the first map, cp_granary was part of theSGL league, but we played ctf_2fort as a showmap after granary. Unfortunately we lost granary 3-5 due to some stupid, stupid mistakes. Lost a couple of rounds even after winning the center point which really shouldn't happen in granary. In forts, we played really well and managed to win the map 4-2. After the game I heard some weird rumors that I would have lost a duel with a soldier to an enemy spy in this map but so far these (baseless) rumors remain unconfirmed. In ETF2L, we have played three games so far. Our first match there was against The Last Resort. Their map was ctf_turbine which we played for the first time and maybe because of this lost the map 3-7. In our own granary we then gave them a good beating and won the map 13-0. Demos available on Challenge-TV in case you are interested. In the second match, we played against 4Kings but I don't know much about this game since my computer broke down and it was played while I was still waiting to get a new one. Apparently we had nowhere near our best lineup in this game (especially since I wasn't there!) and 4Kings crushed us with a 0-8 result in cp_well. In dustbowl our guys managed to score in the off round so this map ended as 6-6 tie and so we got one point from the match which may prove vital later in the league. The latest ETF2L game of ours was against Kompaniet this Tuesday. Now these guys are the best team in Europe and from what I've seen from the US teams, probably in the world as well. This game was covered with an audio commentation by My TeamFortress 2. Again in German, unfortunately. Even so, it was actually quite funny to watch the demo along with the German commentator even though I didn't really understand much other than "Moose ist absolut ein guter soldat" and "Moose ist im augenblick der beste spieler für Clan United". Ain't that the truth ;). I noticed that yli was also mentioned when he got hit by a train while dueling with fojji "ooooouu nooouuu!". Well ended 0-5 for Kompaniet even though we gave them a good fight at times. In dustbowl, Kompaniet had no problems with their off round but we struggled with ours. Just barely managed to cap the last point in second stage during overtime and then they were finally able to stop us to the very last capture point in the third and final stage. It was damn close at least once though but this time we couldn't even snatch that one point from them when dustbowl ended with a 5-6 defeat. I think that's about it from the TF2 side. There's also the ESL Major Series Season II starting soon which we will be participating. The EMS features the biggest price money in TF2 tournaments so far. We'll probably see all the top clans there so it should be an interesting event. In more surprising news, ETF is showing some activity again. I'm organizing a simple double elimination cup along with Prof|ru and Kindergarten Gaming. The signups have just finished and we got 8 teams participating, including Clan United of course. Our lineup for the cup will be: Moose, Jambo, Lifi, humis, yli, ATV, poro, sampi, dona, Celeb, ReVe and poro. The daily gather games are active again on #kgather @ Qnet which is great news for ETF. Remember that ETF is totally free, you can get all the needed files from http://www.kindergartengaming.eu/so join us in the action now! Lastly, I'd apologize for not updating any of the recent matches to our website. The current version of this page lacks support for the year 2008 so none of the games from this year can be added before Lizard or iler or someone does something about this issue. The members page for the TF2 squad is still totally incomplete as well since it only contains about half of our members. The actual lineup can be seen on http://etf2l.q3f.org/teams/9/. Back from the dead..?! AQ2>TF2?! >8DD08 01 2008 - 22:56 GMT+2 :: TerroIt's been quite a while our aq2 section's last update, so I'll probably have a hard time retelling all perse that might've occurred lately, but jaja lor 8) First of all, we have some member changes; Ode joined and Eksotik is in as a trial. Since last member updates was before time was time, I might aswell list our relativly "active" (quite a relative term for nubiteders 8D) squad: Me, bail, Eksotik, firre, kutti, Ode and Zied. Although kutti still haven't learned to play properly with just one arm, so he's benched for now >8DDD If you wonder where the rest of nubited cunts might've gone; I don't think anyone has quit us since my last post, they're just inactive or playing other cunt games like TF2. K, k, anyway, sometime in the past autumn we joined the Sajhco II Riot Cup, a tournament style cup played only on riot. After easily beating bC' in the first round, we faced Armageddon (=A=) in the quarter finals. This turned out to be the game of the tournament, more suitable for a later stage, say final, than the 2nd round 8) After first 40 mins (2x20, change of skins) we we're tied with =A=. A prolongation of 2x15 mins was needed, after which... we we're still tied :D After another 2x10 extension we were still - now to no ones surprise, players or audience in #sajhco - at a tie. The game continued with it's third continuation, and sadly, that one we lost :( After one of the most enjoyable games in my (and other nubiteds/armacuntons playing it) kwaak career, Armageddon went on to win semi-finals followed by an easy win in the finals. Just one more round in the first 90 mins would've been gauge for us, no? 8D Anyway, that [2x20mins: tie, 2x15mins: tie, 2x10mins: tie, 2x10mins: loss] was so gauge that we in december decided to join Sajhco II Rok Cup, same style as the previous Riot cup, but now with the locked map beeing rok, duh 8] As of now, we're 2 days from first round deadline, and are franticly trying to schedule in a game versus our first opponents, .si (Slovenian National Clan). Well, except for the sajhco cup games, we haven't really been playing shit, mostly due to the immense inactiveness of the nubited cunts, myself included 8D BUT! This might be about to change 8DD In just the last few days we've played some 5-6 games, compared with some 5-6games october-december'07 (sajhco excluded). We just can't let the TF2 section take all the glory, so uni.kwaak is once more trying to wake up from the deep dwelling of inactivity \o/ Now for some more stressing matter :II Sadly, the Shin Angyo Onshi manga is now complete in korea, with a unimpressive 17vols [THE END]. This came as quite a shock to me and moose, devoted followers of SAO: as Scanlaters atm are working with vol15, and the story as of vol14 feels HUGE and _far from complete_, I get the feeling that a rushed and hasty end might appear in vol17... Hopefully SAO author will prove me wrong. But let's move on to some more bright things in the manga world :] A few days ago Mosse told me about a new interesting manga; Vinland Saga. After reading the first 3 vols (scanlated so far), I must agree 8D Although not giving the same gauge shivers that I only get from berserk, claymore and SAO, it's still seems gauge and might be a small compensation now that SAO seems to be drawing to it's end :O K k, that'll be it for now 8D Manga tips til next time: Shamo, Ares & King of Hell. Also remember that Berserk, Claymore and Shin Angyo Onshi are MUSTS to read, to any devoted or non-devoted manga-reader. Yes, even YOU iler-sensei, read it now k plz 8DD (Moose would probably want to tip anime cunts out there for Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann and Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, both good animes that I personally I problems finish just cause of my gets-distressed-when-watching-anime-these-days-syndrome.) K lor, take gauge care and watch out for reborn nubited.aq2 8DDD |
